Privacy policy.

Who we are
Wood Consulting LLC ("WC", "we") is a solar, water filtration, and sales consulting company based in Watertown, New York. WC Solar, WC Water, and WC Consulting are divisions of the same company. This site is how homeowners ask for quotes, how sales reps apply to sell with us, how businesses ask about partnering, and where our book is sold.
What we collect
What you give us
- Quote requests: name, phone, email, street address, city, state, ZIP, what the house needs, your average monthly electric bill if you share it, notes, and any photo or file you attach, such as an electric bill.
- Rep applications: name, phone, email, state, how you want to sell, sales experience, and what you write in the application.
- Partner and business inquiries: company name, your name, phone, email, role, markets, team size, what you sell, and notes.
- Bishop, the assistant on this site: the questions you type. Bishop answers from a fixed set of facts about WC. Do not type personal or financial details into it; use a form or call us instead.
- Book purchases: the PDF is sold through Square and the paperback through Lulu. They process your payment on their own sites under their own privacy policies. We receive the order confirmation and, for the PDF, your email so we can deliver the file.
What is collected automatically
- Server logs: our host, Netlify, records the IP address, browser, pages requested, and time of each visit, as every web host does.
- Meta Pixel: we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and its server-side Conversions API to measure whether our advertising works. It records page views and form submissions and sets cookies named _fbp and _fbc. See the cookie policy for how to opt out.
- Fonts: the site loads the Montserrat typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google when a page loads.
We do not run other analytics, we do not use session recording, and we do not buy data about you.
How we use it
- To answer the request you sent: price a quote, review an application, or schedule a partner conversation.
- To call, text, or email you about that request. Texts are sent only if you gave us your number for that purpose.
- To deliver a book you bought and support that purchase.
- To measure our advertising and keep the site working and secure.
Who we share it with
- Fulfillment and financing partners, only when you asked for a quote and only what they need to produce it: our install network through Axia by Qcells and Seamless Home, and the lenders we are authorized on. A lender only sees your information if you choose to apply for financing.
- Service providers that run parts of this site for us: Netlify (hosting and form storage), Anthropic (the model behind Bishop, which receives the text you type), Meta (advertising measurement), Square and Lulu (book payments and printing), and the customer relationship system we use to follow up on requests.
- Legal reasons, if the law requires it or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.
Calls and texts
When you submit a form you agree that WC may call or text you at the number you provided about that request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of buying anything from us.
How long we keep it
Quote and inquiry records are kept as long as we are working with you and for up to three years afterward, so we can answer questions about a job. Applications are kept for one year. Bishop conversations are not stored by us after the answer is returned. Server logs rotate on Netlify's schedule.
Your choices
- Email info@woodconsultingllc.net to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you. We answer within 30 days.
- Reply STOP to end texts. Tell us on any call to stop calls.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser, or turn off Meta ad tracking in your Facebook settings. The site still works without them.
- If your state gives you privacy rights, such as the right to know, delete, or opt out of targeted advertising, you can exercise them by emailing us. We do not discriminate against anyone for doing so.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form data is stored by Netlify and in our customer system, both behind login. No method is perfect, so do not send us more than a request needs.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
