The typical solar company does not build anything. It buys the panel through a distributor, sells the job on a tablet, hands the install to a subcontractor, and moves on. Every handoff is a place for the chain to break, and when the sales company folds, so does your point of contact.
The other failure is quieter: a system that was oversold. A 25-year loan on more panels than the roof needed, at a rate nobody explained, sold on a price that "expires tonight." The wrong solar deal costs more than no solar. Get the real number before you sign anyone's.

If something goes wrong after the install, you call the number you already have. WC handles it. Not a 1-800 line, not the subcontractor.

Finance it.
A fixed monthly payment engineered to land under the bill it replaces. The rate and the term are on the page before you sign, not after.
Lease it or buy the power.
Nothing down, a set rate for the power, the system owned and maintained by the provider. Since 2026 this is the path where the federal credit still reaches most homeowners, so it often wins on the monthly number.
